Lookin’ at U – Tom Caffrey

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”

Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.

This week, we feature Tom Caffrey, research coordinator in the Eppley Institute.

Here, in his own words, are five fun facts about Tom:

• I married the girl next door, have two wonderful children and am living happily ever after.

• I used to mountain bike along South Platte River sandbars in 1975.

• I started working on campus in 1987 as an emergency room volunteer. Within six months, I was involved in chemopreventive diet studies at the Eppley Institute.

• I love Midtown Omaha and have strong ties to the neighborhood, schools and parishes.

• I’m devoted to UNMC, the Eppley Institute, and our global research partners. It’s awesome to pull up a chair to a table of great minds everyday!
