TV’s Marg Helgenberger to be a guest at Kaleidoscope event

Marg Helgenberger, shown here with her mother, Kay Snyder, a breast cancer survivor, will be a special guest at the University Hospital Auxiliary’s Kaleidoscope 2010 even on April 17.
Nebraska native and star of the hit television series “CSI,” Marg Helgenberger, will return to Omaha as a special guest at the University Hospital Auxiliary’s Kaleidoscope 2010.

Helgenberger’s mother received care for her breast cancer at UNMC’s hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center, and since then Helgenberger has become a national advocate for breast cancer research.

‘RE: MISSION POSSIBLE,’ the theme for this year’s Kaleidoscope will be Saturday, April 17 at the LaVista Conference Center.

Ken Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., director of the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, and his wife, Alison Freifeld, M.D., professor of internal medicine, will serve as honorary chairs for the event.

Tickets: $150 per person




Proceeds from the event will help to fund the new Life Renewal Center at The Nebraska Medical Center’s Cancer Center at Village Pointe in Omaha.

The Life Renewal Center will offer a variety of services including wigs, skin and nail care, massage therapy and educational classes to help cancer patients renew themselves after treatment, improve their self confidence and manage their recovery.

Kaleidoscope is an annual, philanthropic event organized by the University Hospital Auxiliary. The evening includes a dinner and silent auction.
