Wellness Wednesday – Spots remain for Monday blood drive

picture disc. About 10 donation slots remain open for UNMC’s holiday blood drive, which will be held Monday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Center for Healthy Living in the Student Life Center.

The campus goal for the drive is 38 units of blood.

The Red Cross has an electronic scheduling system that will be used for this drive. Those wishing to donate can schedule appointments for the drive at http://givebloodgivelife.org.

Blood donation a great way to give

Give the perfect gift this holiday, something that is truly meaningful and always appreciated. In some circumstances, blood donors literally give someone something that they could not live without. Watch a video from the Red Cross about blood donation.

Participants can find the UNMC drive by first clicking on our region and then entering the UNMC drive sponsor code — which is 1199 — or by entering an Omaha ZIP code (68198) and scrolling down to the UNMC drive on Dec. 21.

Those who are experience problems with the registration Web site can call Peter Pellerito at 559-5253 for assistance.

For those who cannot donate Monday, The Nebraska Medical Center will hold a drive Jan. 19 in the Storz Pavilion.
