Gifts abound at UNMC Bookstore

If you haven’t been by the UNMC Bookstore lately, take a moment and stop by.

In addition to a variety of UNMC brand-related clothing and merchandise, the UNMC Bookstore also is a licensed retailer for Nike apparel and Save the Ta-Tas breast cancer awareness products, clothing and gifts.

Since the Aug. 13 brand launch, the UNMC Bookstore has acquired a greater selection of merchandise featuring UNMC’s secondary campus icon. Faculty, staff and students will find the brand campaign reflected on camelback bottles, coffee mugs, T-shirts, jackets, shorts and polo shirts, as well as a few desk accessories.

Sidewalk sale today The UNMC Bookstore will hold a sidewalk sale — featuring Nike and winter apparel — outside the Sorrell C-Store today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“With the holidays around the corner, the bookstore is full of wonderful gift ideas for employees and their families,” said Tina Spencer, manager of the UNMC Bookstore, Sorrell Center C-Store and Parking Services. “We receive new merchandise regularly so shop early and often.”

The UNMC Bookstore is open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Customer parking is on the east side of the building.

The UNMC Bookstore is one of only three retailers in the area to carry Save the Ta-Tas merchandise, Spencer said. The breast cancer awareness products, clothing and gifts have been strong sellers, she said, as has the Nike apparel.

Other items available at the UNMC Bookstore include:

• Medical instruments such as stethoscopes, thermometers, pen lights, reflex hammers and tuning forks;
  
• Directories produced by the Health Professions Tracking Service (coming soon);
  
• Eye clinic items such as readers, sunglasses and eye glass cases;
  
• UNMC-specific diploma frames;
  
• Gift items for parents; and
  
• New winter gear such as hats, scarves and gloves.
