COPH on fast track toward accreditation

UNMC’s College of Public Health recently received approval from the Council on the Education for Public Health (CEPH) to begin the accreditation process.

“With the addition of new associate deans, faculty and staff, we are rapidly building a college focused on public health scholarship, research and service,” said Ayman El-Mohandes, M.B.B.Ch., M.D., M.P.H., dean of UNMC’s College of Public Health. “In addition, this quick approval could not have been possible without the foundation put in place by my predecessors.”

While timelines have not been determined, faculty and staff hope to have a required self-study completed in the fall of 2010.
