Twenty-one researchers — including 14 from UNMC — recently took part in the Second Annual Joint Research Symposium for the U.S.-China Joint Center for Life Sciences (CLS).

The symposium was held at UNMC last week and also included investigators from:

The U.S.-China CLS is a partnership between UNMC and Chinese Academy of Sciences that promotes research collaboration.

The partnership has been very successful culturally and educationally as well as from scientific and business perspectives, said Le Kang, Ph.D., director-general and president of Beijing Institutes of Life Science and Chinese Academy of Sciences, who attended the symposium at UNMC.

The partnership has increased the UNMC’s international visibility and reputation and helped the medical center establish “solid science relationships” with its international colleagues, said UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D.
