The recycling drop-off point near the Student Life Center has been removed due to construction of the College of Public Health and a lack of available parking.
“UNMC has long been a leader in campus recycling efforts and, although we regret the loss of this drop-off point, we remain committed to the cause,” said Rick Boldt, who has led UNMC’s recycling efforts for several years. “We have alternative sites available to collect tin, aluminum, newspaper and plastic.”
Boldt said items made of tin, aluminum and plastics (only nos. 1-6 except for any plastic bags, stretch wrap or Styrofoam, including peanuts) are accepted at the following campus recycling areas:
- The Wittson Hall dock area;
- The Clarkson dock area; and
- The southwest side of the Durham Research Center II.
The UNMC Recycling Center at 38th and Leavenworth streets accepts mixed paper and cardboard.
