Katy and Brant will give Tango lessons on the Truhlsen Campus Events Center during a Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series event on Thursday. |
The first will be TANGO! With Katy and Brant on Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center in the Sorrell Center. The program will teach the cultural significance of the tango.
If you’d like to take a tango lesson, the dancers will offer a quick instruction that starts at 11:30 a.m.
Munroe-Meyer Institute programmer/analyst, Hugh Kam and his friends, the Swingin’ is Believing Guild and Omaha Jitterbugs will perform a swing dance during the event and will offer a quick dance lesson afterward from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
Free bag lunches will be provided to the first 40 attendees.
On Friday, June 19, civic leader Ben Gray, will discuss the historical importance of the Juneteenth celebration. This event will be at noon in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater. Free lunch will be provided to the first 40 attendees.
The Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series is a year-long event designed to provide UNMC employees with educational events and performances related to diversity of thought, culture and celebration.
The event is sponsored by UNMC Human Resources and the Employee Diversity Network (EDN).
