Lunchtime fare to include writing doctors and mariachi music

Physicians presenting works of original creative writing and a performance by a local mariachi band are options for employees looking for activities over the lunch hours today.

At 11:45 a.m. in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, 15 members of the Seven Doctors Project, will present works of poetry, prose and music during the latest installment of the Schwartz Center Rounds. Lunch will be served for the first 100 people to attend. The Seven Doctors Project started in early 2008 and pairs UNMC health care professionals with local writers in a writing workshop setting.

Mariachi Zapata will perform traditional Mexican music at noon in the Durham Research Center Auditorium. The band’s performance is part of the UNMC Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series and is sponsored by UNMC Human Resources and the Employee Diversity Network.
