Memorial service is Tuesday for Dr. Friedlander

Walt Friedlander, M.D.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Funeral Chapel, 7805 W. Center Road for Walter Friedlander, M.D., a legendary UNMC faculty member who started both the neurology program and the medical jurisprudence and humanities program.

Burial will be at Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center St. Family and friends will then gather in the lower level of the Storz Pavilion in Clarkson Tower for a reception to honor Dr. Friedlander.

A memorial fund is being set up through the University of Nebraska Foundation. A complete obituary will appear in the Tuesday edition of UNMC Today.
