Lookin’ at U – Matt Bowen

Quick, think of five things others should know about you.

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”

Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee or student to feature.

This week, we feature Matt Bowen, supply control clerk in facilities, management and planning.

Here, in his own words, are five fun facts about Matt:

• I grew up in Carson, Iowa, population 800, where I still live today. It takes me about 30 minutes each way to get to and from work.

• I have two children Daniel, 4 ½, and Myla Mae, 3. They bring happiness to my life every day.

• I have coached little league baseball for the past 16 years in my hometown. Last year, we placed second in the county tournament!

• I co-own my own mobile disc jockey service, “Unlimited Music.” We have been playing parties, weddings, school dances and other events for more than 20 years. We play Omaha, Des Moines, Kansas City (Mo.) and all points in between!

• I usually take an annual trip to Cancun for some sun and fun in October with a group that ranges in size from 10 to 20 people!
