You’ve read about them in the news, now come see them for yourself! Watch and learn as painting conservators clean more than 70 years of dirt and grime off historic murals at the Durham Museum.
Painting conservator, Deborah Uhl, will host a special lecture on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the museum showcasing her conservation work on the 12 murals in the museum’s Swanson Gallery and The Walter and Sue Scott Great Hall.
The presentation is exclusively for medical center employees, students and their immediate family and will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Uhl will explain the conservation process and visually walk participants through the two projects. Participants also will observe her assistants working on the Swanson Gallery murals during the presentation.

This workshop is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.
