The UNMC Department of Public Affairs is launching the “I Love UNMC” video contest, and invites all faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends to participate.

“We want to hear what makes UNMC special and why people love being associated with the state’s only public academic health science center,” said Renee Fry, director of public affairs. “This video campaign is a great way to share stories about UNMC and build even greater pride on our campus.”

To enter the contest, simply submit a video — two minutes or less — that explains why you love UNMC. Be creative — we’ll accept any kind of video, whether from a camera or a cell phone! And if the warm fuzzies aren’t motivation enough, there will be prizes, too.

“We’ve secured great prizes, including cash, athletic tickets, and even some creative prizes that recipients are sure to love,” Fry said. “Additionally, we have prizes for all four of our campuses, so that everyone can participate.”

Random prize drawings will be held throughout the contest, and anyone who has submitted an entry is eligible to win.

  • The top ten most viewed videos as of Jan. 30, 2009, will advance as finalists for the Viewer’s Choice, 1st, 2nd and 3rd runner-up prizes.

To express our love to you for participating in the contest, the Viewer’s Choice 1st and 2nd and 3rd runner-up winners will be announced just before Valentine’s Day 2009.

All videos will be uploaded and featured on UNMC’s YouTube, Facebook and MySpace pages. The final deadline for entries is at 5 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2009.

But remember, the grand prize will be awarded by viewer’s choice, so be sure to submit your video early, and share and post the video link on your own social media pages!
