Lookin’ at U — Elaine Payne

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”

Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee or student to feature.

This week, we feature Elaine Payne, office associate I in the College of Pharmacy.

Here, in her own words, are five fun facts about Elaine.

• I have one son, Drew, and a 10-week-old grandson, Griffyn, who is just perfect.

• My husband, Tom, who also works at UNMC, and I like to ride our Harley Davidson motorcycles on the weekends and even rode them to the Sturgis (S.D.) Rally in 2005.

• My favorite place to vacation is San Diego. I love the weather and visiting the wineries in Temecula Valley.

• I was born and raised in Nebraska and am a HUGE Husker fan. I especially cheer for the defense, even in the rough years.

• I have two dogs, Suzie, a 10-year-old basset hound, and Max, a 4-year-old German short hair, whom I love dearly. (Yes, Drew, Max is mine.)
