The Olson Center for Women’s Health at UNMC now offers the Olson Wellness Exchange (O.W.E.) — a partnership that brings the center together with health-focused organizations within the Omaha community to offer health and wellness benefits especially for women.
Membership in the O.W.E. is free to anyone — not just Olson Center patients — and allows women to receive up-to-date information on women’s health and learn about companies in Omaha that are working to improve wellness in women.
“Having good medical care is important to staying healthy but equally important is taking an active role in the prevention of disease,” said the Olson Center’s Lana Molczyk. “Many diseases are related to lifestyle. By taking time to incorporate health and wellness into your life, some diseases may actually be prevented.”
O.W.E. members also get discounted services at many local business and organizations that have partnered with the center through the exchange.
The 62 current partners of the O.W.E. are health- and wellness-based and include several Omaha-area fitness centers, massage centers and day spas, health-food stories, grocers, Fontenelle Forest and 2nd-Wind Exercise Equipment.
O.W.E. members also will receive:
- Discounts on Olson Center for Women’s Health events;
- Monthly e-mail (or mailing if you don’t have e-mail) with current offerings and promotions from O.W.E. partners;
- Quarterly women’s health newsletter on a variety of women’s health issues;
- Bi-monthly educational flier on a specific women’s health issue; and
- Access to Olson Women’s Health Resource Center, which is in the Olson Center for Women’s Health on the fouth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center.
The Olson Center is a comprehensive clinic for women of all ages and for every stage of their lives. The center has specialists in areas such as obstetrics and gynecology, nurse midwifery, internal medicine, dermatology, mental health and nutrition and weight management.
