UNMC Board of Counselors names officers, welcomes new 10 members

The University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Board of Counselors elected officers for 2008 at its recent annual board meeting.

Rick Kolkman, president, First National Bank of North Platte, will serve as chairman, while Don Goldstein, with Penske Truck Leasing in Omaha, will serve as vice chairman.

The group welcomed 10 new board members at the meeting held at the Durham Research Center in the Scott Amphitheater. New board members by hometown are:

Cambridge – Dick Shoemaker, Pinpoint Communications;
Gordon – Joel Hutchins, M.D., rural family practice physician;
Holdrege – Theresa “Terry” Krohn, director, Two Rivers Health Department;
Lincoln – Marshall Borchert, communication engineer; Liz S. Fieselman, president and chief executive officer, Education Quest Foundation;
Norfolk – Brandon Theophilus, businessman; Kent Warneke, editor, Norfolk Daily News;

The UNMC Board of Counselors is a group of 66 community and business leaders from across the state who advises UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., on health care issues of importance.
