MMI employees ‘whack’ the directors

Faculty and staff of the Munroe-Meyer Institute paid money to “whack the directors” on employee appreciation day held recently.

Employees used an aluminum bat to hit piñatas with pictures of directors’ faces attached to them.

The faces of Interim Director J. Michael Leibowitz, Ph.D., Joanne Johnson, Joe Evans, Ph.D., Michael Crawford, Ph.D., and Penny Horner graced the candy-filled piñatas, which were hand-crafted by Rosa at the JP Lord School.

The proceeds from the piñatas coupled with the funds raised from the themed baskets raffled off garnered more than $500 for JP Lord.

The monies raised from the event will go toward t-shirts for graduates of the school as well as the purchase of holiday items.
