Dr. Wilson will reflect on his 18 years as a regent and discuss how public policy is set in higher education.
Dr. Wilson, a retired cardiologist with the Nebraska Heart Institute, has served as a regent for three terms. He has served three-year terms as both the board’s chairman and vice chairman.
A native of Geneva, Neb., Dr. Wilson received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska and his M.D. from Northwestern University Medical School. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, and later as attending staff at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center and Bryan/LGH Medical Center.

Anyone who is willing to advocate on behalf of UNMC is encouraged to become a delegate.
This free program uses e-mail to communicate with the delegates regarding issues of importance to UNMC. Delegates will receive informational e-mails regarding congressional and state legislative developments and will be called to action when crucial issues arise. Aside from e-mail communication, members will be invited to attend an annual dinner as well as delegates-only quarterly events.

Dave Heineman’s Policy Research Office; Richard Raymond, M.D., USDA Under Secretary for Food Safety for the Food Safety and Inspection Service; Duane Acklie, chairman of Crete Carrier Corporation; Joann Schaefer, M.D., Nebraska’s chief medical officer; Joel Johnson, M.D., Nebraska State Senator and UNMC alum; and Tom Rosenquist, Ph.D., UNMC’s Vice Chancellor for Research.
