In January, Rosanna Morris assumed the role of chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at UNMC’s hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center.

Morris previously served as chief nursing officer and vice president of Patient Care Services at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Before that she was the director of transplant and acute care services at Halifax-Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Before moving to Florida, Morris was manager of adult and pediatric multi-organ transplant Services at Stanford University Medical Center in Stanford, Calif.

The opportunity to reassociate with the academic medicine environment was very appealing to Morris.

“I’ve been incredibly impressed with this organization,” she said. “Each round of the interview process further solidified my desire to be here.”

Morris describes her management style as innovative.

“I enjoy seeking opportunities and challenges,” she said. “I love being a part of a team environment.”

She looks forward to the opportunity of working with Clarkson College and the UNMC College of Nursing to elevate nursing practices at The Nebraska Medical Center.

Morris and her husband, Michael, are the parents of four children: Tim, 26, Tina, 24, Bob, 22 and Amanda, 17.
