Second-year medical student Zac Handler spent this past June working as an intern for CNN in the cable news giant’s medical unit.
As part of his duties, Handler was often sent along on news stories to help explain things the medical correspondents didn’t understand.
He also worked closely with CNN’s chief medical correspondent, Sanjay Gupta, M.D.
