Phyllis Nsiah-Kumi, M.D.

Phyllis Nsiah-Kumi, M.D., assistant professor in the department of internal medicine, is among the many new faculty members at UNMC.

Name: Phyllis Nsiah-Kumi, M.D.

Title: Assistant professor

Specialty: Internal medicine and pediatrics

Research Interests: Health disparities, diabetes prevention in at-risk children, health literacy and patient education and culturally effective health communication.

Degree: M.D., Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland

Residency: Internal medicine-pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University-MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland

Post-doctoral Training: Two-year HRSA general internal medicine fellowship, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago

Previous positions: Clinical instructor, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Appointment Info: Dr. Nsiah-Kumi sees adult and pediatric patients at UNMCP’s Baker Place Clinic, 5050 Ames Ave., on Monday afternoons and Wednesday mornings. Call 595-2280 for appointments.
