Beth Beam, right, of the UNMC College of Nursing talks to Ariel Hagensen, a participant of “CSI Nebraska,” as a scenario unfolds Monday during which a human patient simulator “dies.” The “CSI Nebraska” program, which kicked off Monday and will run through Thursday, is being hosted by the College of Nursing. Participants are learning about nursing opportunities and in particular, about forensic nursing, a field that has been around for about 10 years. Jan Goldsmith, an internationally known forensic nurse of Des Moines, Iowa, is one of a number of speakers. There are still openings for those 17 and older to participate in sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. For more information, contact Dani Eveloff at 559-5184 or develoff@unmc.edu. Cost is $15 and includes a T-shirt and lunch. |
