Spotlight on new faculty — meet Claudia Barthold, M.D.

Title: Assistant professor, department of emergency medicine, co-assistant medical director of the Nebraska Regional Poison Center

Specialty: Emergency medicine, medical toxicology

Duties: Attending physician in the emergency department, performing medical toxicology inpatient and outpatient consults.

Medical degree: University of Tennessee (2000)

Residency: Louisiana State University, New Orleans — emergency medicine (2004)

Fellowship: Emory University / Centers for Disease Control / Georgia Poison Center — medical toxicology (2006)

Memberships: Board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), American College of Emergency Physicians, Board certified by the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT)

Toxicology clinic hours: Friday afternoons, Durham Outpatient Center. Appointments made by physician referral only. Physicians should contact Dr. Barthold by e-mail at cbarthold@unmc.edu or phone the poison center at 384-4054 or 955-5555 to discuss referrals.
