The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invites the public to a free presentation Oct. 5, on non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Patients, family members, friends and health professionals are invited to attend.
The presentation will be transmitted live from Omaha via telemedicine to Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, North Platte and Scottsbluff.
During a “Meet the Expert on non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma” presentation, Philip Bierman, M.D., associate professor of oncology and lymphoma expert, UNMC, will talk about terminology, risk factors, diagnosis, staging, and classification of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He also will talk about new insights, treatments and future directions for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Susan Stensland, manager of social work, The Nebraska Medical Center, will talk about coping with diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
