Presidential graduate fellowships announced

University of Nebraska President James B. Milliken has announced the 2006-07 recipients of Presidential Graduate Fellowships, including two at UNMC. The Fellowships recognize and reward graduate students who are engaged in innovative research projects.

In addition to UNMC’s recipients, there were three awardees at University of Nebraska-Lincoln and one at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

“These students are involved in research that has great promise,” Milliken said. “We are fortunate to have a level of private support that allows us to encourage academic achievement and recognize some of our outstanding graduate students.”

Fellows at UNMC each receive an annual stipend of $21,000. Funding for the fellowships is provided through the University of Nebraska Foundation.
