The UNMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation is proud to announce its upcoming annual graduation ceremonies in recognition of the following individuals who will be completing their residency training: Drs. Mark Dietrich, Kathleen Grier (formally Hubley), Daniel Mulconrey, Charles Rosipal and Steven Volin.

On Friday, June 16 from 8 to 11 a.m., presentations will be given by the graduating residents and featured speaker Dr. K. Donald Shelbourne of The Shelbourne Clinic at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. Dr. Shelbourne will present “Proposed Mechanism for ACL Injury” at 10:15 a.m. Also speaking Friday will be UNMC alumnus Dr. Richard Davis, who recently returned from serving in Iraq. He will share his knowledge of “Combat Orthopaedics – The Balad Experience” at 9:20 a.m.

A Knee & Sports Medicine Symposium will be Saturday, June 17, from 8 to 11 a.m. featuring a session of scientific lectures and case presentations involving patellofemoral, ACL, and meniscal disorders or injuries. Dr. Shelbourne will give the final presentation — “What I’ve Learned about the ACL” — at 10:15 a.m.

  • Charles Rosipal, M.D. — University of Texas – San Antonio Shoulder Surgery Fellowship, San Antonio, Texas

  • Steven Volin, M.D. — University of Virginia Health System, Department of Orthopaedics, Spine Fellowship, Charlottesville, Va.
