UNMC College of Dentistry offers free seminar to dentists and dental hygienists

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry is offering a free seminar to dentists and dental hygienists May 8-11. The 19th Annual Continuing Education Caravan will provide professionals updates in dentistry. Those who attend also will receive 3.5 hours of free continuing dental education credit.
 
The caravan will stop at Mahoney State Park, North Platte, Scottsbluff and Grand Island. Topics to be presented include: an update on pediatric dentistry today by Fouad Salama, D.D.S., director of the UNMC Pediatric Dental Clinic, and how to determine if a patient is using methamphetamines by James F. Jenkins, D.D.S., assistant professor, department of Adult Restorative Dentistry, UNMC College of Dentistry.
 
In addition, John Reinhardt, D.D.S., dean of the UNMC College of Dentistry, will present a brief update on education, research, patient care and outreach activities at the college. Dr. Reinhardt is available for media interviews following their presentations.
 
The programs will run from 1 to 5 p.m. at each of the following locations:

The agenda at each location is as follows:
1 p.m. – Greeting and introduction by Myron L. Pudwill, D.D.S., associate professor in the department of adult restorative dentistry.
1:10 p.m. – UNMC College of Dentistry update by Dean John Reinhardt, D.D.S.
1:30 p.m. – "Is Your Patient on Meth: An Update" by Jim Jenkins, D.D.S.
3:15 p.m. – "Pediatric Dentistry in the New Millenium" by Fouad Salama, D.D.S., director of the UNMC Pediatric Dental Clinic.
5 p.m. – Adjourn
