Alfred Burns receives Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship Award

A third-year University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry student, Alfred Burns, received the Pierre Fauchard Academy’s Annual Scholarship Award at ceremonies held during the Nebraska Dental Association’s annual meeting on March 30 in Omaha, Neb.

The Pierre Fauchard Academy is an International Honorary Dental Organization recognizing outstanding dentists and celebrating their achievements. It seeks to support the highest ideals of dentistry throughout the world in both ethical and moral practice, through service to community, country, and profession.

The Academy presented Burns with a certificate recognizing his leadership and scholarship during the years of his dental studies at the UNMC College of Dentistry. Burns has served as president of his dental class for two years and has also been extremely active in volunteer and outreach activities.

Burns is a native of Logan and is considering entering a residency program in Pediatric Dentistry following his graduation from the UNMC College of Dentistry in 2007.
