UNMC’s fall radio commercials showcase the pride Nebraskans feel for UNMC. The two 30-second commercials can be heard on the Pinnacle Sports Network of stations.

The radio commercials made their debut during the weekend’s AVCA/NACWAA College Volleyball Showcase at the Qwest Center.

One 30-second spot features Larry Bockelman, a science teacher from Wisner-Pilger High School, who talks about how UNMC faculty keep science teachers across the state on the cutting edge. The second spot features Dr. Pat McGuffey, a College of Medicine alumnus, and his daughter, Megan, who is a second-year UNMC medical student. They point out that Megan could have gone anywhere and her choice was UNMC.

The theme for the fall campaign is: Nebraska’s Pride is 500-miles wide. “Through these commercials, we are attempting to capture the pride that we hear Nebraskans from across the state express when talking about their experiences with UNMC,” said Sandy Goetzinger-Comer, director of public affairs.

The second phase of the campaign will be to produce and air 60-second spots that will feature other Nebraskans and their thoughts on UNMC’s important impact on the state.

The radio commercials will air on all of the Pinnacle Network stations on game days for Husker football, men’s basketball and women’s volleyball. The Pinnacle Sports Network is comprised of more than 50 stations across the state including
