A cardiovascular symposium scheduled for Friday, June 10, at UNMC is designed to provide the latest information on a broad spectrum of cardiovascular scenarios commonly encountered in everyday practice.
The “4th Annual Cardiovascular Symposium: Cardiology for the Primary Care Provider” will begin at 8 a.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium. Andrew Weis, M.D., is the symposium director.
“While fundamentals will be reviewed, emphasis will be placed on what’s new and exciting, thereby also providing a stimulating learning experience for those attendees at intermediate and more advanced levels of experience and expertise in their respective disciplines,” said Dr. Weis, associate professor of cardiology at UNMC. “Practical information and clinical pearls will be paramount.”
Physicians in family medicine and internal medicine, as well as physician assistants and nurse practitioners, are the target audience. Topics for the morning presentations include atrial fibrillation, acute coronary syndrome, hypertension management and congestive heart failure.
