The UNMC College of Medicine has honored Linda Ford, M.D., and Col. Paul Mueller, M.D., with its “Volunteer of the Year Award.”

Drs. Ford and Mueller were recognized for their outstanding role and dedication to the educational process of students and residents in classroom, campus and clinical settings.

Dr. Ford is a private practitioner in the field of allergy and immunology, who maintains nationally recognized asthma prevention programs. Dr. Ford also has served as president of major organizations involved in the prevention of asthma, lung disease and allergies. Dr. Ford focuses her work on research and is a national expert in the fields of allergy and immunology.

Dr. Mueller, a volunteer faculty member in the department of family medicine since 1997, works at Ehrling Bergquist Hospital. He is the residency program director at the family medicine residency clinic where he works with student and residents in the areas of teaching and clinical service. Dr. Mueller recently was promoted to commander of the 55th Medical Operation Squadron.

In 2003, Drs. Ford and Mueller were each honored as “Volunteer Faculty of the Month” recipients in a special luncheon hosted by the College of Medicine dean.
