Robak final finalist for NU presidency to visit UNMC

Kim Robak on Friday was the fourth and final finalist for the University of Nebraska president position to make a formal visit to UNMC.

Robak was interviewed by the Chancellor’s Council and had a private interview with Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. She also heard presentations during a tour of the state-of-the art research and education facilities at the Durham Research Center.

Robak, 48, is vice president for external affairs and corporate secretary for the University of Nebraska. She has filled those roles since 1999, before which she was lieutenant governor for the state of Nebraska.

Robak is one of four finalists vying to become the next president of the University of Nebraska. The others are Peter Sloat Hoff, Ph.D., president of the University of Maine’s flagship campus; Adm. James Ellis, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base; and James “J.B.” Milliken, senior vice president for university affairs in the University of North Carolina system. The other three finalists visited campus last week.
