The campus community is invited to the dedication ceremony for the Durham Research Center Thursday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of the building.
An all-campus celebration will follow the dedication until 3 p.m. Refreshments and tours of the building’s first floor will be available. Jazz music will be provided until 1 p.m.
Short- and long-sleeved T-shirts (sizes S to XXL) will be available for purchase at $6 and $9, respectively. Individuals off campus may e-mail T-shirt orders to Megan Addy at maddy@unmc.edu. Commemorative calendar posters were designed featuring scientific images from five research areas. The posters will be available to employees at the celebration.
Broadcasting the dedication
Employees at UNMC’s off-campus sites also can view Thursday’s dedication ceremony live. The ceremony will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.unmc.edu/durham and archived for later viewing. It also will be broadcast live via satellite on NET 2, Channel 105 to the following sites:
- University of Nebraska at Kearney — Communication Building, Room 241;
- Scottsbluff — Panhandle Station, Room 201; and
- Lincoln — UNMC College of Dentistry, Room 4.
Public open house Nov. 16
Employees are encouraged to bring their family and friends to the Durham Research Center on Sunday, Nov. 16, during a public open house of the first floor. Visitors will see first-hand the state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and auditorium. The public open house is from 1 to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
