UNMC faculty and staff are invited to participate in the Fourth Annual SHARING Clinic Golf Tournament on Monday, May 19. The four-person scramble, affectionately called “Docs on the Green,” will begin at 3 p.m. at the Field Club of Omaha, 3615 Woolworth St.
UNMC students help to organize and sponsor the tournament. Proceeds go to three student-run clinics: the weekly SHARING Clinic (Student Health Alliance Reaching Indigent Needy Groups); the weekly RESPECT Clinic (Responsible Early STD Prevention, Education & Community Testing); and the monthly GOODLIFE Clinic (Greater Omaha Outreach for Diabetes Lifestyles Impacting Fitness and Education).
For nearly six years, the UNMC students have provided medical services to the underserved and underinsured at the SHARING Clinic, recording 4,000 office visits. Operation of the other two clinics has begun within the past year.
Several sponsorship categories are available for the tournament.
- A “Tournament Sponsor” receives special recognition, hole recognition, four playing spots and dinner. The cost is $750.
- A “Hole Sponsor” receives hole recognition, four playing spots and dinner. The cost is $550.
- A “Group Sponsor” receives four playing spots and dinner. The cost is $350.
In addition, a sponsor who wants hole recognition but does not want to participate in the tournament can sponsor a hole for $100.
