Casey Johnston, a third-year medical student from Alliance, has been elected as the next president of the UNMC Student Senate. Student elections took place last week.
Johnston, the current Student Senate vice president, will assume his new role in 2003. As president, Johnston will preside at the senate’s monthly meetings and will serve as UNMC’s student representative on the NU Board of Regents. Student regents take part in regent activities and are involved in the discussion at board meetings, but their votes do not count toward official tallies.
