College academic advisors and pre-health advisors from across Nebraska will be on the UNMC campus, Tuesday, Sept. 24, to meet with representatives from colleges and departments.
Last year, about 65 advisors received updated information about the programs, said Janet Moore, outreach/retention specialist for the Office of Student Equity and Multicultural Affairs in Student Services.
Moore coordinates the event with Creighton University’s Advisor’s Day, which will be Sept. 23, enabling advisors who come a long distance to stay in Omaha and attend both events.
David Crouse, Ph.D., interim vice-chancellor and dean of the Graduate School, will welcome the guests at the Eppley Amphitheatre and give an overview of Graduate Studies and Research.
Representing other colleges and programs are:
- Curtis Kuster, D.D.S., professor, College of Dentistry;
- Gwen Hlava, associate professor and chairwoman of dental hygiene;
- Mary Haven, associate dean, School of Allied Health Professions, and Allied Health faculty;
- Ted Roche, Ph.D., associate dean, College of Pharmacy; and
- Larry Hewitt, director of Student Services, College of Nursing.
