University of Nebraska President L. Dennis Smith, Ph.D., has announced the campus allocations for the cuts mandated by the recently concluded special session of the Nebraska Legislature, as well as a time-line for campus announcements of specific cuts.
The dollar amounts that must be cut are:
University of Nebraska-Lincoln– $7,513,953
University of Nebraska Medical Center– $3,068,892
University of Nebraska at Omaha– $2,286,088
University of Nebraska at Kearney– $1,208,572
University of Nebraska Central Administration– $1,124,085
Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, Curtis– $76,010
Total — $15,277,600
Each campus chancellor will announce his or her recommendations for operations and programs that will be affected by the cuts on Sept. 10, with final decisions on the cuts expected to be announced by President Smith in mid-November. The cuts will become effective in the current fiscal year.
