On behalf of the Faculty Senate, the Executive Committee and I wish to express our appreciation to you for your plans to implement the planned faculty and staff salary increases. The budget deficit is serious and you have laid out a sound plan for decreasing our campus budget. We applaud your understanding of the importance of competitive salaries to attract and retain the very best faculty and staff. This is in keeping with your continued push for excellence and national prominence for the Medical Center in research and delivery of health care. Thank you for your leadership.
