On Thursday, KMTV Channel 7 aired a story about a massage therapist who crossed the lines of ethical behavior. Although the therapist was not associated with UNMC’s Lifestyle Enhancement Center, individuals at the center have issued the following response:
“The story about massage and ethics that aired on KMTV, Channel 7 on Thursday, April 25 presents a concern for legitimate massage therapists, such as those who practice at the LEC, and for those of us who offer massage in our facility. This story gives us an opportunity to let you know that all of the therapists who practice at the center have been very carefully selected. Obviously, they are all state licensed. However, all offer much more. They are skilled, experienced, caring practitioners dedicated to your comfort and sensitivities.
“Our personal experience with each of them and their treatments shows them to be careful with proper draping and professional demeanor. And each one is respectful of client wishes regarding treatment length, pressure preference, music choice, room temperature and level of undress. For a professional treatment in a safe, secure, relaxing environment, you can trust the UNMC LIFEstyle Enhancement Center.”
The Lifestyle Enhancement Center is located at 2255 S. 132nd St., Ste. B, in Omaha. For more information, call 595-1876 or visit their Web site at www.omahalec.com.
