On Monday, UNMC kicked off its second round of radio ads. The ads, which will air the weeks of March 11, 18 and 25, feature the following topics and individuals:
- Research on diabetes — Jennifer Larsen, M.D., with comments from patient Richard McConnell of Omaha;
- Research in the genetics of learning disabilities — Shelley Smith, Ph.D., and;
- Research on rheumatoid arthritis — James O’Dell, M.D., with comments from patient Anne Ivey of Omaha.

Last month, Nebraskans heard UNMC research ads spotlighting clinical research on cancer vaccines for lymphoma (Julie Vose, M.D.); basic research on pancreatic cancer (Tony Hollingsworth, M.D.), and medical technology’s rural training program (student Laura Horner of Minden, Neb.). All six radio spots will air again during the weeks of April 15, 22 and 29.
The commercials are part of UNMC’s ongoing awareness efforts to communicate to Nebraskans how UNMC is benefiting the state through its innovative research and education programs.
