Mark Rupp, M.D., an infectious disease specialist for the University
of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Health System, has been elected
as the academic counselor for the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of
America (SHEA). His two-year term on the SHEA board of directors begins
next January.
SHEA is comprised of approximately 1,500 members, representing 41 countries,
and is dedicated to fostering the development and application of the science
of Healthcare Epidemiology. Dr. Rupp currently serves on the editorial
board for the SHEA journal Infection Control and Healthcare Epidemiology
and the SHEA Annual Meeting Program Committee.
Last April, Dr. Rupp was the scientific program coordinator for the
SHEA annual meeting held in Toronto.
