Munroe-Meyer Guild’s 34th Annual Garden Walk to Benefit Children, Adults with Disabilities

The 34th Annual Garden walk sponsored by the Munroe-Meyer Institute

Guild will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2001. Proceeds go to support the

therapeutic, training, and research activities benefiting children, youth,

and adults with developmental disabilities and chronic handicapping conditions.

Visitors will tour gardens at seven locations from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

(rain or shine). The homeowners are: Dr. and Mrs. John Fischer, 12504 AV@

Street (Oak Hills); Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gross, 630 North 156th Avenue (Barrington);

Dr. Pattie Helke and Mr. Paul Vovk, 718 North 161st Street (Barrington);

Friend of MMI, 109 South 92nd Street (Westchester); Mr. and Mrs. John Hoich,

4428 South 180th Street (Hoich Park); Friend of MMI, 2005 South 85th Avenue

(Loveland); Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Willard, 16611 Spring Circle (Armbrust Acres)._

These gardens feature special ideas in vegetables, herbs, landscaping,

planting, and patios. Nursery personnel will be available at all sites

to answer questions. Refreshments will be available at various sites, as

well as garden related vendors with special items to sell.

Advance tickets are $8.00 ($10.00 on the day of the event at all gardens)

Children under 12 are free. Stroller access limited.

A Preview Party will be held on June 9, 2001 at the Linden Estates home

of Jon and Becky Bischof, with a wine and cheese garden tour from 5:30

to 7:00, reception and silent auction at 7:00 and dinner at 8:00 p.m. The

cost is $65.00.  Jody Hobson and Georgene Marks are co-chairmen of

the Garden Walk.
