The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, located
in Lincoln, invites the public to its free, annual opening of its Dental
Museum, Oct. 13-18, during which the museum puts its entire collection
on display. The museum has one of the largest regional collections of historical
dental equipment and artifacts dating from the 1850s.
Included on display will be a collection of tooth extraction instruments
dating from the 1500s, period dental offices from the 1850’s to the 1930’s,
as well as thousands of dental artifacts including dental cabinets, x-ray
machines, and instruments.
The collection will be displayed in the lower level at the UNMC College
of Dentistry, located at 40th & Holdrege Streets on the East Campus
of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Free parking is available on the
east side of the building.
The museum will be open during the following dates and times:
Oct. 13 — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oct. 14 — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oct. 15 — 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Oct. 16 — 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Oct. 17 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oct. 18 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
