The 33rd Annual Garden Walk sponsored by the Munroe-Meyer Institute
Guild of the Munroe-Meyer Institute, a unit of the University of Nebraska
Medical Center, will be held Sunday, June 11. Proceeds go to support the
therapeutic, training and research activities benefiting children, youth
and adults with developmental disabilities and chronic handicapping conditions.
Denese Stalnaker and Carol Miller are co-chairs of the event.
The gardens feature special ideas in landscaping, planting, and patio
treatments. Expert nursery personnel will be available at each site to
answer questions. The Garden Walk is a rain or shine event.
We truly need and appreciate the community support we receive by the
attendance at the Garden Walk, Stalnaker said. Without community help,
it would not be possible for the guild to give support to the families
undergoing treatment and give grants to students which enable them to train
with the professional staff.
Visitors will tour gardens at seven locations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The homeowners and sites are: Glenn and Ruth Brand, 4114 N. 79th St.; Steve
