Joins UNMC Faculty


 


Edward Vandenberg, M.D. has joined University Medical Associates, the

faculty group practice associated with  the University of Nebraska

Medical Center. Dr. Vandenberg is a geriatrician who will practice in the

University Geriatric Center on the UNMC campus. He also will serve as acting

chief of geriatrics for the Omaha Veteran’s Administration Medical Center.


 


The son of Ben and Betty Vandenberg of David City, Dr. Vandenberg is

a 1969 graduate of Aquinas High School. He attended Kearney State College,

now the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

and earned his medical degree from UNMC in 1976. Dr. Vandenberg completed

his residency training in family medicine.

Dr. Vandenberg will be seeing patients on campus at the University Geriatric

A former chief of medicine at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, Wisconsin,

Dr. Vandenberg brings more than 20 years of experience to UNMC including

the last 13 years in family medicine and geriatrics. He received his geriatrics

certification in 1988.


 


The UMA physician group includes nearly 350 physicians. In partnership

with Nebraska Health System, these physicians offer services in 50 specialties

and sub-specialties ranging from family medicine to transplantation and

provide outpatient care at UNMC and in 13 neighborhood health care centers

throughout the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area.
