Mark A. Leiker, a University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry
student, has received a dental scholarship for $2,500. Leiker is enrolled
in the colleges Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) program in Lincoln,
Neb.
He is one of 25 students nationwide to receive this scholarship.
Students who receive the scholarship must have at least a grade point average
of 3.0 or above, and be in their second year of dental school. With a 4.0,
Leiker has the highest GPA of his class.
Funding for this scholarship program is provided by the American Dental
Association Endowment and Assistance Fund, Inc., and the ADA Health Foundation.
UNMC is the only public academic health science center in the state.
