Tapestry of Arts

Helping young people with disabilities explore creative interests and skills through performing and visual arts.
Our pediatric Tapestry of the Arts program offered by the MMI Department of Recreational Therapy is for children and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Individuals ages 8-17 are invited to participate.
This general arts programming expands opportunities for exploring and cultivating participants’ creative interests and skills through exposure to a variety of performing and visual arts. In this program, participants will enjoy dance, acting and theater with the help of guest artists and trained recreation therapists. Being in class with peers provides time for socialization and connecting with others.
Tapestry of the Arts is possible through a generous gift from the Sunny Durham Foundation.
