Camp Munroe

Camp Munroe offers children and youth with intellectual or developmental disabilities or genetic disorders a stimulating curriculum, recreational play and social interaction.

This pediatric inclusive day camp experience offered by the MMI Department of Recreational Therapy can meet individual needs while providing opportunities for recreational play and social interaction with peers.

Participants are placed in small groups based on their age. Each group is under the supervision of trained recreational therapists, activity technicians and volunteers. Our curriculum is based upon cooperative play and utilizes the buddy system where a member of our staff or a volunteer are assigned to each camper.

The camp day format is divided into 45-minute activity sessions. Groups transition through three activities each morning and afternoon and have an hour for lunch.
