If you are considering our residency program, we offer answers below to frequently asked questions from applicants.
Yes, applicants can expect an interview with a group of two to four residency faculty members either by teleconference (Zoom) or in-person. On-site interviews are at each applicant’s own expense.
Interviews, by teleconference or on-site, are scheduled the first or second Thursday and Friday after February 15 of a given year (application deadline) depending upon which day of the week Feb. 15 falls. The program director will notify applicants selected for interview with specific dates and times.
MMI participates in the uniform pediatric residency announcement date. This date is typically in early to mid-March and determined annually by the group of national participants. Candidates have 24 hours from the date the offer was received to make a decision. If the first offer extended is declined, a second offer will be made 24 hours later, and so on.
The program begins July 1 and ends June 30.

Housing is not available on the UNMC or MMI campus for residents in this program. The UNO Scott Campus is located near MMI and multiple housing options are available. Apartment prices range from approximately $500 to $1200/month with an average cost of $650/month. These websites may be useful:
