Support and Family Leadership Training

Our Support and Family Leadership Training includes curriculum in the areas of neurodevelopmental disabilities and focuses on developing the support skills of a person with a disability or their family member.

Advanced Interdisciplinary Leadership Training

This intensive, interdisciplinary training program is designed for parents, caregivers or siblings or a person with a disability.

The program includes didactics, research, community learning and leadership, practicum experiences and interdisciplinary training clinics in the area of neurodevelopmental disabilities. A focus is placed on developing the skills of family members to champion for children and families experiencing a disability or complex health care need and to promote needed systems change.

Family trainees represent the family perspective in all training activities.
  • We invite parents, caregivers or siblings of a person with a disability to apply.
  • An undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
  • This program begins July 1 and ends on April 30 each year.
  • Recruitment begins in January.
  • 600-hour program.
  • Stipends are available.

Disability Support Leadership Training

The Nebraska LEND program is developing a training curriculum for individuals with a disability who wish to become leaders in the field of disability support. Disability support trainees would participate alongside family members and professional trainees in the Advanced Interdisciplinary Leadership Training Program.
  • Adults with a disability will be eligible.
  • 600-hour program.
